Overton

Danielle Overton, Head Cheer Coach

Coach Danielle Overton joined Lavaca Schools in 2015 as the 7th and 8th grade Science teacher and joined the high school staff in 2017. She has taught Physical Science, Biology, and Environmental Science. She adopted the Junior High Cheerleaders her first year, and then took over the whole Cheerleading program in 2016. Since 2016, Coach Overton has been the Head Coach of the LJH and LHS Cheer teams. The LHS Cheer teams have won the State Championship twice (2016, 2018) and have been State Runners-Up four times (2019-2022). 

Coach Overton graduated from Mansfield High School in 2010. She attended college at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, and graduated with a degree in Career and Technical Education in 2014. The 2023-24 school year will be her 10th year in education, and 9th year at Lavaca. 

Coach Danielle Overton is married to her husband, Whit, who is also a Head Coach. They have one daughter, AnnaGrace, who will start Pre-K at Lavaca in 2023.

Graves

Amber Graves, Assistant Cheer Coach

Coach Amber Graves began coaching for the Lavaca Golden Arrows in 2021. She currently serves as the assistant cheerleading coach, teaches Physical Science and Algebra I, and is the LHS Student Council Sponsor. Before taking on this role, Coach Graves had been part of the Arrow family as a former student and substitute teacher.

Coach Graves graduated from Lavaca High School in 2016. She attended college at University of Arkansas - Fort Smith from 2016 to 2019 to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Coach Graves continued her education with Arkansas Tech University from 2020 to 2021 to earn a Master’s degree in the Arts of Teaching.

Coach Graves is married to her husband Janson, who is also a graduate of Lavaca High School. They welcomed their daughter Laney to their family in 2022. Coach Graves and her family are proud to be Lavaca Golden Arrows!!
